Brasstown Bald is the highest point in Georgia – and is part of the US Forest Service. Admission is $5.00 per person (16 and up) and includes (if you like) a shuttle bus to the top. However it is more fun to climb the .6 mile trail to the top. While it is a short hike up, it’s quite steep (my fitbit registered 43 ‘floors’ up.
On a clear day you can see quite a view in all directions. It was an amazingly cool day for August (in the 60’s at the top – and only 84 down by Helen on the way home). It was a simply beautiful day.
